i do not agree as the predator could still hunt for its prey even though there is a big difference in their size. example: a lion as a predator and a buffalo as a prey

No, i dont agree.FOR example,a lion is a predator while a giraffe is a prey, the giraffe(prey)is much larger in size than the lion.IT does not mean that a organism which is a predator is larger than its prey, it can also be smaller than its predator.
